Inpatient Cancer Services

Southeast's dedicated oncology unit and its specially trained nursing staff, many of whom are oncology certified nurses, is designed to meet the many needs of cancer patients and their families and fosters an open, supportive environment.

The unit is designed for the comfort of family members as well as patients. Recliners and limited kitchen facilities with a microwave oven are available for family use. Because family support is so crucial to cancer patients, the unit visiting policy encourages both adults and children to visit.

Inpatient Cancer Care

Southeast Missouri Hospital offers both in-home and hospice care through Southeast Home Health and Southeast Hospice.

Southeast Home Health Service

Southeast Home Health

Southeast Home Health is Medicare certified and Medicaid approved. Services for cancer patients include skilled nursing procedures provided by a registered nurse; occupational therapy; physical therapy; speech pathology; enterostomal care parenteral nutrition; medical social work; and help with activities of daily living.

Nurses also work to educate patients and families about care needs so that a patient can be as independent as possible. The agency can also assist patients in securing medical equipment such as wheelchairs, beds and oxygen delivery systems.

Southeast Home Heath serves Cape Girardeau, Bollinger and Scott counties and portions of Mississippi, New Madrid and Stoddard counties. For more information about how Southeast Home Health can help, call 573-335-6609 or 1-800-910-4355.
